History
Berzano di Tortona, or Bërsòu as we call it in the Tortona dialect, has a history that dates back to Roman domination. Initially, it was part of the territory of Tortona, but in 1818 it became an independent municipality. During the fascist period, from 1928 to 1947, it was included in the municipality of Volpedo.

The coat of arms of our municipality was granted by decree of the President of the Republic in 2006. It represents a silver keep on a red background, symbolizing the tower of the Berzano Castle that dominates the town's historic center.
