Bolzano Bellunese: a small hamlet in Belluno
Bolzano Bellunese, also known as Bolzano di Belluno, is a geographical hamlet of Belluno, located in the northern part of the city, just 5 km from the center, on the right bank of the Piave river. It is a small town with about 800 inhabitants located on the right bank of the Ardo stream.
The parish church and the 7º Alpini Refuge
The parish church of Bolzano Bellunese dates back to the 14th century and is dedicated to the Apostles Peter and Paul. It preserves an important cycle of frescoes dedicated to Saint Peter, of uncertain attribution. The road that leads to the 7º Alpini Refuge is located below the church, at the foot of Mount Schiara, along with the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
