An ancient and fascinating history

The first settlements in the area date back to 1160, when the Pinetan territory had the political status of pieve and belonged to the canons of the Cathedral of San Vigilio. In 1253, the Magnificent Pinetan Community was born, which defended its freedom from feudal institutions throughout history. In the fourteenth century, the area was inhabited by German settlers who maintained their customs, traditions, and language for about four centuries.
