The Province of South Sardinia is a place of extreme beauty, characterized by a varied natural landscape. The territory is distinguished by the presence of the wide Campidano plain, delimited to the west, east, and north by mountain groups, including the Sette Fratelli Massif and Mount Linas, just to name a few. Furthermore, the Province of South Sardinia boasts several islands, including the Sulcis archipelago, Serpentara Island, Cavoli Island, and several smaller ones. Seas and Beaches

The territory of the Province of South Sardinia is bathed by the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Sardinian Sea, offering tourists and visitors the splendid opportunity to enjoy numerous and fortunately not crowded beaches. Among the most famous seaside resorts, we recommend the Dune di Piscinas, Costa Verde, Masua, Fontanamare, the islands of Sant'Antioco and San Pietro, Porto Pino, Teulada, Chia (Domus de Maria), Villasimius, and Costa Rei. In these locations, you can admire the crystal-clear sea, the white and fine sand beach, but also the unspoiled nature, intense sunset colors, and much more.

History of the Province of South Sardinia

The Province of South Sardinia was established on February 4, 2016, thanks to the reform law of the provinces in Sardinia (Regional Law 2/2016). It includes the Campidano, the lower Marmilla, the Sarcidano, the Sarrabus, the Trexenta, and Sulcis-Iglesiente within its territory. This means that in a single province, you can discover different facets of Sardinia, the traditions, and habits of the inhabitants of these areas, without the need to travel too far.

Conclusions

In conclusion, the Province of South Sardinia is a truly unique place where you can feel part of Sardinia and be amazed by its wonderful nature. Some places offer peace and unspoiled nature, others crystal-clear waters and wide beaches, and still others festivals and fairs that fill Sardinian nights with traditions and colors. So, what are you waiting for to come and visit us? The Province of South Sardinia is waiting for you with open arms!
