Aviatico
Aviatico: a municipality immersed in nature
Hello everyone! Today I'll tell you about Aviatico, a small municipality in the province of Bergamo situated on the Altopiano, along with the nearby Selvino. Its privileged position on the western slopes of the mountains Mount Cornagera and Mount Poieto make it perfect for nature lovers and outdoor activities.
Territory
The territory of Aviatico is located at an altitude of about 1,020 meters above sea level and includes the hamlets of Ama, Amora, and Ganda. Although considered part of the Val Seriana, its capital, Orografia, falls within the Val Serina, a tributary of the Val Brembana.
The municipal boundaries are given by small passes between the mountains and neighboring territories, while the watercourses that cross the territory are mainly small streams. The internal road network is simple and includes three roads that join up near the inhabited center of the capital.
History
The origin of human presence in the municipal territory dates back to prehistory, as evidenced by numerous archaeological finds. Among these, the ''Bus de Scabla'' and ''Paradiso degli asini'' caves stand out, where Bronze Age artifacts and Copper Age burials were found.
