History: an area rich in nature and life
The area of the current lake was previously called the Ligont plain and was mainly cultivated with corn and tobacco. Along the shores, there were some minor villages and the fraction of Rocca. However, after the construction of the dam, many communities were submerged by the waters, and most of the residents had to emigrate. Today, Lake Corlo remains a painful memory for the people who lived in these areas, but at the same time, it has become a naturalistic and tourist wonder.

With an area of 2.45 km² and a maximum depth of 68 meters, Lake Corlo is a place of great charm, ideal for fishing and kayaking or canoeing excursions. The view of the dam that supports the lake, which is approximately 60 meters high, is incredibly suggestive and allows you to admire the strength of nature and human engineering that gave life to this artificial basin.
