Andalo has an ancient history dating from the Middle Ages when it was divided into fourteen farms, including Bortolon, Cadìn, Casa Nova, Clamer, Doss, Fovo, Ghezzi, Melchiori, Monech, Pegorar, Perli, Ponte, Toscana, and Roni. The village underwent considerable urban evolution over the years and, starting from the mid-twentieth century, became a primary holiday destination, thanks to the presence of numerous lifts on Paganella and high-level reception facilities.

Society

The population of Andalo has remained fairly stable over the years, with a slight demographic growth recorded. There are also some foreign minorities, mainly represented by the Romanian people.

Administration

Andalo has undergone several administrative changes over the years. In 1928 the municipality was abolished and its territories were aggregated to the municipality of Molveno, while in 1947 the municipality was reconstituted.
