Monte di Nese: the village among the mountains
Hello everyone! Today I want to talk about a small village located in the province of Bergamo, Monte di Nese, or as the locals call it, Mut de Nés.
Territory
Located on a natural terrace between the Cavallo, Filaressa and Colletto mountains, Monte di Nese offers a breathtaking view of the Val Seriana and much of the Bergamo plain. There are several districts within the village, such as "Cà Gherardi", "Castello", "Fracchi", "Pellegrini" and "Piazza".
The road network is simple with only one access road connecting it to the main town of Alzano Lombardo, about eight kilometers away. However, there are numerous trails and mule tracks that allow you to reach all the neighboring areas.
In the area, there are numerous streams that only swell after heavy rains and collect excess water from the surrounding mountains.
History
Monte di Nese presents findings dating back to the 3rd millennium BC. Related to the human presence on the territory. In the 6th century BC, the Orobi, a population of Ligurian origin, settled, to which the populations of Celtic origin were added.
In the 1st century BC, the conquest of the Romans did not lead to the construction of new settlements, remaining the main ones in the valley floor. In the Middle Ages, thanks to the presence of the Via Mercatorum, Monte di Nese benefited economically from people and goods traveling towards the Val Brembana.

Today, Monte di Nese remains a small mountain village, but still offers numerous activities for nature and relaxation enthusiasts. Numerous tourists attracted by the beauty of the area choose the village as a destination for their holidays.

Every year, during the month of August, the village hosts the Festa del Mut de Nés, where you can taste local gastronomy and enjoy music and dance performances.
