Litta Parodi

Litta Parodi: the fraction of Alessandria

Hello everyone! Today I want to talk about Litta Parodi, a small fraction of the municipality of Alessandria, located east of the city. What strikes the most about this area is certainly the landscape: flat and very sunny, it is called "Fraschetta" and hosts many inhabited settlements.

Physical geography

Litta Parodi is located at a modest height, and its geographical location is perfect to enjoy the Italian climate. The Fraschetta plain offers a breathtaking panorama that extends to the horizon.

Litta Parodi: history and flavors of the Alessandrian hamlet.

History

In the territory of the current Litta Parodi, there are records of inhabited settlements already in the mid-nineteenth century. In that historical period, the two settlements that would become Litta and Parodi were already present on post-Napoleon Bonaparte maps.

The suburb of Litta Parodi was officially recognized as a fraction of the municipality of Alessandria shortly before the Second World War. The construction of the Ettore Bravetta elementary school and the church of Our Lady of Fatima, which would be erected as a parish the following year, made Litta Parodi a more structured and welcoming fraction at the same time.

Sagra del rabatòn

Since 1980, the fraction of Litta Parodi has been famous for the "Sagra del rabatòn". It is a typical local dish, made with a mixture of ricotta, eggs, grated bread, grana cheese, and herbs, which is then boiled like gnocchi. This event attracts tourists from all over Italy every year and offers an unmissable opportunity to taste the flavors of Litta Parodi's traditional cuisine.

Conclusions

Litta Parodi is an Alessandria fraction worth visiting. The beauty of the landscape and the history of the area are certainly valid reasons to discover this charming corner of Italy. And if you decide to go to the "Sagra del rabatòn," you won't regret it!
