Territory

The territory of Albino covers an area of 31.32 km² and has an average altitude of 342 meters above sea level. The capital is located at the foot of the Selvino and Aviatico plateau, both reachable thanks to the Albino-Selvino cable car. The Cornagera Mountain also stands over the city.

The Albino territory is crossed by numerous waterways, including the Serio River, the main river in Lombardy, and Lujo which flows in the Lujo Valley, known for its fractions of Fiobbio and Abbazia.

Other important watercourses include Albina, which divides the town from the fractions of Bondo Petello and Desenzano al Serio, and the Rio Re, which has played a fundamental role in the local economy due to its proximity to mills and grindstones.

In addition, there are also small streams, such as Rovaro, which serves as a border with Gazzaniga, and canals such as Roggia Comenduna and Roggia Serio Grande, built in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.
