History

Albanella has an ancient history dating back to the 11th century, when it was founded by refugees from Paestum. They were believed to be Greek-Albanian populations, in search of a place outside the reach of Saracen raids. Thanks to its strategic position, the oldest settlement is located on the hillside most protected from the eyes of any invaders coming from the sea. Over the years, Albanella has undergone various feudal dominations, passing from the Sanseverino to the Aragonese, and finally to the Minadois. From historical sources it can be seen that the barony was sold by Baron D. Francesco Sr. to the D'Urso/Orso.

Today, Albanella is a vibrant and continuously growing municipality, with a welcoming and sunny population. The city center offers quality services, with many shops, bars and restaurants where you can taste typical Campania dishes.
