Origins of the Name

The name Albairate seems to derive from the Latin word "Arboretum," meaning "place with trees," and the toponym might refer to the presence of an ancient forest in the surrounding area of the current Riazzolo Woods. However, according to other sources, the name could derive from the Latin personal name "Albarius," deformed later with the suffix "ate."
