Society

Demographic evolution

It is interesting to note the demographic evolution of Agra, which has seen a steady increase in population over the centuries. In 1751 there were 440 inhabitants, but by 1805 there were already 549. After the annexation of Cossano (Dumenza) in 1809, the population reached 709. In 1853 the number of inhabitants in Agra was 626, while in 1901 the population had grown to 854.

Anthropogenic geography

According to ISTAT, the municipal territory of Agra includes the inhabited center of Agra and Vignone, and the inhabited nucleus of Gaggio.

Daini Park

If you decide to visit Agra, you cannot miss Daini Park. Here you can admire splendid specimens of deer and goats inside a vast enclosure. The park also offers recreational equipment for children and a bocce court. Inside the park there is also a building where lunches and dinners are organized throughout the year, often hosting the Alpini Group. In addition, parties are held such as those dedicated to children, Epiphany, Christmas, New Year's Eve and Easter.

The Children's Festival

Agra is famous for its children's festival, known throughout Luino, and dedicated to all the little ones. It is a celebration that takes place every year and involves different activities, such as the representation of Greek myths, the Middle Ages or ancient Rome, followed by refreshments, lunch and a beautiful magic show. In addition, there is another very special moment for children: the giant soap bubble show!

The Pumpkin and Chestnut Festival

The pumpkin (or chestnut) festival in Agra is another highly anticipated event and is famous for its pumpkin-derived products such as ravioli, sculptures and Halloween pumpkins. Even chestnuts are protagonists and are sold in bags or baskets for the collection of spikes. In addition, there are many stands with games, food, books and paintings.
