However, summer should not be underestimated: during the hot season, even the temperature of stream water can drop below 15 degrees. Another curiosity concerns the particular conformation of the historic center of Abetone, crossed by a road that separates the Adriatic and Tyrrhenian watersheds.

The municipality of Abetone, established in 1936, has always had a special affinity with the world of skiing and mountain tourism. In 2017 it merged with the municipality of Cutigliano, giving rise to the municipality of Abetone Cutigliano.
